The register

Eight districts, and the station you arrive at.

Galatea is a port city that was carved before it was born. Each district is a separate place with its own materials, its own work and its own weather — you move between them through the station.

  1. Arrival

    Cradle Station

Every citizen starts here. No crime, no Heat, no exceptions.

A working terminus, not a lobby. The signal ribbon and tannoy report what each district is actually doing, six platform gates board real trams, station staff keep their rounds, and the Notice Wall turns over every Cycle.

    • The Arrivals Hall
    • The Concourse
    • The Notice Wall
  2. Civic core

    Marble Heart

Where the city keeps its records and its promises.

Neoclassical white and grey stone. City Hall, the Bank of Galatea, the Precinct and the Courts — the institutions that hold your money, your deeds and your sentence.

    • City Hall
    • The Bank of Galatea
    • The Courts
    • The Founders' Monument
  3. Commerce

    The Galleries

Glass and iron arcades, and a shopfront with your name on it.

The commercial downtown. Market halls, player storefronts and the public market — where stock arrives by freight and leaves over a counter.

    • The Public Market
    • The Arcade
  4. Industry

    Foundry Row

Red brick, gantry cranes and soot that settles on everything.

Where raw input becomes stock. Workshops run recipes each Cycle, and a line staffed by people out-produces a line staffed by villagers.

    • The Great Foundry
    • The Warehouses
    • The Yards
  5. Port

    Quayside

Honest work by day. Other work by night.

Piers, cranes, container stacks and fog. The city's goods enter here — and so does everything that would rather not be declared.

    • The Harbor & Piers
    • The Customs House
    • The Fish Market
    • Bonded Warehouses
  6. Residential

    The Terraces

Stepped streets up the hills. Most people build their first house here.

The residential district, and the usual answer to 'where do I start'. Lease a Micro lot with almost nothing down, or buy a Standard outright when the shifts add up.

    • The Terrace Steps
  7. Undercity

    The Undercroft

A literal city beneath the civic one.

Vaults, strung lights and wet stone under Marble Heart. Fences, the black market and the Laundry. Stylised, systemic, and never the only way to get ahead.

    • The Black Market
    • The Laundry
    • The Cut
    • The Old Quarry Voids
  8. Green belt

    Parkside

Newest — building from stock materials

Where the city stops being a city.

Market gardens and glasshouse rows. The widest land bank in Galatea and its largest standard lots — the place to go when you want room.

    • Grove Hall
    • The Commons
    • The Glasshouse Rows
  9. Exchange

    The Spire

Newest — building from stock materials

Rectilinear, pale, and slightly too clean.

Glass, cold steel and the Exchange floor. Small plots, tall buildings, and the highest prices in the city.

    • The Spire Atrium
    • The Riser Stack
